Guided Visits and Brief Introductions

Guided visits around the gardens are available for specialist groups. These incorporate most areas of the gardens and take approximately two hours to complete.

Brief introductions consist of a 10 minute talk about the gardens, after which you are free to explore at your leisure.

Refreshments are available - please specify when booking if you would like refreshments at the start or end of the tour.

Hours and seasons

Group visits operate from April through to September inclusive on all weekdays, generally between the hours of 10am and 6pm. Rain and adverse conditions do not usually stop tours; therefore suitable clothing should be worn!

Please remember that Broughton Grange is a private garden open to the public only on charitable open days, guided tours & seasonally on Weekdays.

Prices & Payments

Three prices apply for groups visiting the gardens (prices are per person, please state preferred option on booking):

- Option 2 Entrance to the gardens, guide with no refreshments £12.50

- Option 3 Entrance to the gardens, brief introduction by a member of staff and light refreshments £12.50

Ploughmans lunches + a bottle of water are available as an extra for £10 per person (please let us know on booking if desired).

Payments are taken on the day of your visit with no deposit required.

We accept cash, cheque or bank transfer, & payment by card is available.

Around the gardens and particularly in the main walled garden there are a number of different landscape surfaces, sets of steps and steep pathways. Regrettably, this makes some areas of the garden difficult to access with devices such as wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Parking for cars and coaches is available on a neighbouring field and is clearly signposted from Wykham Lane. For coaches please contact us in advance to check space & conditions.

Plants for sale

We grow a good selection of (mostly herbaceous) plants here at our small plant nursery, many of which are propagated from the gardens. A selection of plants is made available for purchase on garden tours, open days, and in-season on Wednesdays.

Visitors are requested not to bring dogs as they are not permitted (except guide dogs).
