Our Tours

Guided tours around the gardens are available for specialist groups. The tours incorporate most areas of the gardens and take approximately two hours to complete. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served on the tea lawn at the top of the garden, where cover is available for either shading out the sun or keeping dry in the rain - please specify when booking if you would like refreshments at the start or end of the tour.

Hours and seasons

Please note that Broughton Grange is a private garden open to the public only on open days or guided tours.

Tours operate from April through to September inclusive and are available Monday to Friday, generally between the hours of 10am and 6pm. Rain and adverse conditions do not usually stop tours; therefore suitable clothing should be worn.

Group size

Group sizes from a minimum of 20 up to 60 are accommodated, with groups of 30 or more generally being split between two guides.

Prices & Payments

We are now taking group bookings for 2013 - 2 prices apply for groups visiting the gardens (prices are per person):

- guided tour with light refreshments (tea/ coffee and biscuits) £10.00

- guided tour with no refreshments £7.50

Payments are taken on the day of the tours with no deposit required.

We accept cash, cheque or bank transfer, but are unable to accept payment by card.

Accessibility

Around the gardens and particularly in the main walled garden there are a number of different landscape surfaces, sets of steps and steep pathways. Regrettably, this makes some areas of the garden difficult to access with devices such as wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

Parking

Parking for cars is available on a field next to the tour start point; this is clearly signposted from Wykham Lane. Coaches should pull into the hard standing area situated opposite the estate gates on Wykham Lane. The area has a limit of three coaches at any one time.

Plants for sale

We grow a good selection of (mostly herbaceous) plants here at our small plant nursery, many of which are propagated from the gardens. A selection of plants is made available for purchase on garden tours and open days.

Dogs

Visitors are requested not to bring dogs as they are not permitted (except guide dogs).
